With passion, team spirit, and success at the "Kärwelauf" in Weikersheim
On Friday, September 5, the Weikersheim "Kärwelauf", a running competition, entered its fourth round – and DATA MODUL was right in the thick of it. Five highly motivated colleagues from our site took on the sporting challenge of running 5 or 10 kilometers.
In glorious late summer weather, they demonstrated what makes us strong at DATA MODUL: team spirit, by spurring each other on and supporting one another; passion, by approaching the race with energy and enthusiasm; and success, by all reaching the finish line together – with smiles on their faces.
A big thank you to our Weikersheim team for this strong performance! Moments like these show how our values come to life outside of our everyday work. We are already looking forward to the next running event.
Celebrating what connects us – up to 30 years as part of DATA MODUL
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of honouring a very special group at our locations in Munich at DATA MODUL AG and in Weikersheim at DATA MODUL Weikersheim GmbH: our long-standing employees who have been an integral part of our company for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or even 35 years.
We celebrated this special occasion with a culinary highlight – an exclusive barbecue course with the barbecue professionals from Weber. In Munich, the event took place at Ziemann's cooking school, and in Weikersheim at the Winzerhof Stahl in Auernhofen/Simmershofen. Together, we prepared delicious dishes and shared many wonderful moments in a relaxed atmosphere.
With their commitment, experience and team spirit, our long-standing employees shape the identity of DATA MODUL – day after day. As an international company with colleagues from over 35 nations, we know that it is people who make the difference.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who accompanies us on this journey – yesterday, today and in the future. We look forward to what is yet to come!
New in our portfolio: embedded modules with Intel® Raptor Lake processors
We are now offering high-performance Computer-on-Modules with 13th generation Intel® Core™ processors (codename: Raptor Lake) from congatec in our range. The modules are based on the COM-HPC and COM Express standards and offer high scalability for compute-intensive applications.
Thanks to the improved hybrid architecture with performance and efficiency cores, the modules impress with increased computing power, optimised energy efficiency and integrated AI acceleration. They are ideal for industrial automation, robotics, medical technology, intelligent transport systems and image-processing AI applications.
The technical highlights include interfaces such as PCIe Gen 5, USB 4.0 and up to 2.5 GbE Ethernet – the best prerequisites for powerful and future-proof edge computing.
As a long-standing strategic partner of congatec, we offer the newly introduced Raptor-Lake COM-Express and COM-HPC modules via our global sales network. Our range of services extends from pure distribution to kit solutions with memory and cooling solutions through to complete integration in modern panel PCs and customised touch display solutions.
Young talents impress in the ‘Creative Minds’ competition
For DATA MODUL, sustainability also means social responsibility. Respect, appreciation and integrity are firmly anchored in our corporate culture. We stand for equal opportunities and are committed to our employees and society.
One example of our social commitment is the ‘Creative Minds’ competition, in which we have been involved since 2023. Pupils from the Creglingen/Weikersheim region develop innovative ideas with the help of local companies.
This year, two of the projects we supported were honoured: a WLAN-enabled thermometer for temperature monitoring in the kitchen and grill and a table wiper prototype.
We would like to congratulate all those involved on their success. With our involvement in ‘Kreative Köpfe’, we are assuming social responsibility, promoting young talent in the neighbourhood of our Weikersheim production site.
Only one week to go! On 26 June you can meet us at IKOM at the TUM School of Engineering and Design. Come by stand 7 and find out about internships, working student jobs and dual study programmes at DATA MODUL.
Are you interested in innovative technologies and looking for the right career start? Then come and meet us! On 26 June 2025 you will find us at IKOM at the TUM School of Engineering and Design in Munich! From 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, we will be available at stand 7 to answer your questions about internships, working student jobs and dual study programmes.
We are now expanding our portfolio with the new SMARC 2.1 Computer-on-Modules from congatec, based on the Texas Instruments Jacinto™ 7 TDA4x and DRA8x processors. The industrial-grade modules impress with their combination of high AI processing performance and a particularly energy-efficient design with a power consumption of just 5 to 10 watts - compared to other modules/processors in a similar performance class (9 - 15 watts).
Thanks to dual-arm Cortex-A72 processors, powerful AI accelerators and 3D graphics, the conga-STDA4 modules are ideal for demanding AI edge applications. They are particularly suitable for use in autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), industrial automation and medical technology solutions.
The modules offer versatile features such as two MIPI CSI camera inputs, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and comprehensive safety functions. The TDA4x variant is equipped with an integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) and is therefore particularly suitable for applications with image and video processing. The DRA8x variant offers a cost-effective alternative without this image processing acceleration.
With support for Linux, QNX, RTOS and VxWorks, the modules will be available in series production from Q2 2025. Full A.0 samples are already available now. Together with the 3.5" SARC carrier board solution from congatec, they enable fast and efficient system development.
With the publication of our first sustainability report for the 2024 financial year, we are providing comprehensive insights into our sustainability activities and strategic direction. ‘In a challenging economic environment, we have made a conscious decision to anchor sustainability as an integral part of our corporate strategy - as a central building block for the future viability of DATA MODUL. Our goal is to combine economic considerations with ecological responsibility,’ emphasises Dr Florian Pesahl, CEO of DATA MODUL AG.
As part of the global transformation process, we work across departments and holistically in accordance with the three ESG dimensions - environment, social and governance. The implementation of specific measures is based on our understanding of sustainability with its three central pillars:
Resource and energy efficiency: We generate sustainable added value and protect our environment through innovative technologies for resource conservation and recycling. We promote product circularity with a focus on our customers’ requirements.
Social responsibility: Respect, appreciation and integrity are firmly anchored in our corporate culture. We stand for equal opportunities and are committed to our employees and the society.
Sustainable supply chain: Long-term partnerships based on trust are the foundation on which we continuously develop the supply chain together with our customers and suppliers.
DATA MODUL supports student project with e-paper displays
As part of the co-operative study model at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, we provided two 7.5-inch e-paper displays (12061155) for an innovative project in their innovation lab.
The aim was to develop a modern light alarm clock that combines functionality and design. The project comprises a large LED panel controlled by WLED software and an alarm clock unit with an ESP32 microcontroller that displays the time and menus on our e-paper display.
The entire system was developed independently by the students - from the electronics and software to the 3D-printed housing. With our display technology, we were able to make a small but important contribution to this successful project and at the same time show how versatile e-paper solutions can be used in smart applications.
